Meet Jen

  • Jen Crane, E-RYT 200 Yoga Instructor, Ayurvedic Nutritionist

Jen realized her passion for yoga in 2009, after taking her first vinyasa class at Hot Yoga Inc., in Bellevue, WA. Feeling exhausted but exhilarated in spirit, her love for both the physical and mental practice of yoga was one that grew organically and continuously. As she found herself at the studio more days than not, the invitation to complete a 200 hour teacher certification program felt more like a natural progression than any kind of choice. Since 2011, Jen has taught various forms of yoga throughout Washington State. From Seattle to Walla Walla, and now home in Bellingham, Jen continues to bring her signature style to the mat, encouraging students to take their practice beyond the physical layer.

With a deep reverence for yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda, Jen has since become a certified Ayurvedic Nutritionist, and is an Ayurvedic Health Counselor in training with Hale Pule. She finds that the practice of honoring our (often forgotten) intuition, paired with moving through life with a focus on reconnecting the body, mind, and energy centers, allows for a truly holistic approach toward wellness. Ayurvedic clients can expect a personalized experience, as Jen works with each individual to determine the best path forward toward finally feeling well, inside and out. Meal plans, lifestyle shifts, and so much more are all on the table when it comes to nourishing one’s truest self. Jen offers personalized care, planning, and a targeted approach based upon one's specific constitutional needs.

Combining her love of yoga asana, a deep appreciation for pranayama (breathwork), and her lifelong experience with dance, Jen’s class sequencing is always intentional and accessible for anyone who chooses to dive inward by way of the mat. A former school teacher, Jen has also brought the joy of yoga into children's classes, with weekly movement, breathwork, and mindful crafts through Bellingham School District’s after school enrichment program.

Jen prioritizes compassion and awareness with all students and clients, encouraging the practice of intention-setting and breathwork. Threading attention to the koshas and chakras, she emphasizes the power of leaning into nature’s rhythms as a theme in her classes and consultations. Those who work with Jen can expect to leave feeling rooted in their most authentic selves.

Currently, Jen teaches weekly classes at Barkley Yoga, Kids Yoga+Mindfulness through Bellingham School District (enrichment program), and offers one-on-one Ayurvedic consultations and yoga sessions out of her new space in historic Fairhaven.

Jen lives the life she loves, and you can find her practicing yoga asana and experimenting with Ayurvedic meals at home daily. Outside of yoga and Ayurveda, Jen loves exploring the beautiful PNW, walking by the water, and spending time with her sweet family.
